III. VPN server

A virtual private network (VPN) extends your home network across the public network and enables you to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if your devices were directly connected to your home network. Applications running across the VPN will therefore benefit from the privacy and security of your home network*.

You can connect to your YOOS VPN wherever you are in the world, in a secure and private way. It also allows you to access your torrents server and your admin interface.

It is using the OpenVPN®️ protocol and comes with 5 VPN keys (for up to 5 simultaneous connections). Your VPN keys are available in your self-hosted storage in a sub folder named VPN. Each key is a text file with an ovpn extension (for instance, client01.ovpn, client02.ovpn...) and should be used on a unique device.

For security and legal reasons, the YOOS team recommends that you do not share your keys except with people you can trust (like immediate family…)
